The southbound 101 Freeway was completely shut down in downtown LA Tuesday evening, as authorities searched for a man suspected in a murder, officials said.
Authorities said the man was running on the freeway initially. They said they began searching surrounding areas for the man, said to be in a brightly colored sweatshirt, in homeless encampments nearby.
